“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.”
There are lots of ways you can help make a difference in Pittsfield for as little as one hour a year. You don’t need to be a gardener. Our volunteers choose what works best for them.
Below are some examples on how you can help:
Non-Gardening Areas
Photograph our gardens and maintenance endeavors.
Assist with fundraising.
Help with outreach efforts to raise awareness of our organization.
Gardening Areas
Plant a container or part of a garden on Planting Days in early June.
Join us on Friday mornings whenever you’re available.
Adopt a garden or planter for seasonal maintenance.
Help us identify trees in public sites that would benefit from pruning.
